So you need a domain for the new site you want to make. These days it’s important to think of a great domain name to go well with your site. Your domain name is key because it’s the first impression people get when they visit your site, before they get to your site they’ll enter your domain name or click on a link that goes to your site. Below is a short list of what you should think about when picking a domain name.
Make it short, the shorter the better
Memorable, you want to be able to brand the domain so that when people here that name, they think of your site
Make it simple, the easier it is to spell, the better
Avoid “2″ “4″ “u”, this goes along with being simple, don’t make it confusing
Include keywords, words people would search for in Google
After you have thought of a domain name you will be given many extension choices. The most popular extensions are .com, .net and .org. If you think that the domain you thought of is really valuable, go ahead and get all 3 if you can afford it. If your stuck with picking a .com, .net or .org you should always go with the .com since its the most popular one and most common extension. What if the .com is taken? If the .com is taken then I would recommend going with .net. If you would like to see which one fits best you should pronounce the domain with each extension to see which sounds best.
